The song “I Am A Free Bird” came to A Free Bird founder, Godni during a time in his life when he felt exactly like a free bird! He decided to write a song that reflected this state of mind along with the way helping children through his organization made him feel. As he began to write the song, he felt liberated. He realized that if he could feel like a free bird through the power of the arts, then he could inspire children everywhere to pursue their passions and fly free!

The lyrics flew into Godni’s head as he put pen to paper and expressed his desire to liberate others through the power of music. This song is the I Am A Free Bird campaign’s anthem. It is a celebration of the arts, passion, and life! It perfectly captures everything Godni and the A Free Bird organization wish to present to the world as a high-flying non-profit.

Godni first performed “I Am A Free Bird” during the 2015 “I Am” gala. The attendees were so moved by the song that they approached him after the event and encouraged him to go forward with the song’s production and release.

Godni listened, recruiting a renowned production team and filming a music video, all through the help of generous volunteers, including Music Works NYC, Manhattan Studios, and Sony music producer, Synematik. In 2016, Godni reached out to Falyn Vega, a 17-year-old artist in remission from cancer. The song morphed into a duet and an anthem of empowerment through the arts. Through the launch of the 2016 I Am A Free Bird campaign and the release of his incredible single, Godni is introducing Falyn into the world as a rising star that will inspire children everywhere to boldly declare, “I Am A Free Bird.”
